Advantages: Free, displays good cross-section of Glasgow public, ideal for finding 'Fly-fishing' by J.R. Hartley.... Disadvantages: Can be very busy, Celtic fans on match day, be careful not to be ripped off
hangout for the Police, they're bound to see dome dodgy activity and don't be surprised if you're perusing a stall only for the owner to grab his/her belongings and do a runner!), and mendicants who've wandered from Glasgow Green and the local hostels.
Another reason to visit the Barras is the proximity to Celtic's football grounds at Parkhead (if you're so inclined). On a match day, don't be surprised at the amount of green and white shirts in the area. (For balance, Ranger's play at Ibrox on the South-side - perhaps an op on that area may be next...!).
The Barras is ALWAYS freezing, unless Glasgow is in the middle of a heatwave. Unlikely? I should coco. In any case, take a jumper. Or buy 2 for a tenner while you're there! Parking is minimal, so it's best to take any of the buses from the East end, but it's only a 5 minute walk ...

One of the main reasons to come here, however, is the wonderful mix of cultural influences that make the cuisine, music and lifestyle here so different even to other parts of Brazil. The population of over three million, consists mainly of people with African origins descended from slaves, although there have been many other strong influences through Salvador's history. Salvador is also famous for it's carnival and street parties.
The final stop on my extensive two-week tour of Brazil was to Salvador ...

I currently live in Stourport on Severn in the heart of Worcestershire and recently had some distant relatives come to visit for the weekend and we needed somewhere for them to stay as our house just wasn?t big enough to accommodate the whole family. In the end we decided to book a couple of rooms at the Oakleigh Guest House as I had heard good reviews on the place from friends.
~Location~
Oakleigh Guest House is situated right in the heart of Stourport on Severn town centre so is in a perfect location to access all the local amenities. However it is situated far enough away from the main High Street so that you don?t get the noise from the pubs on a Friday and Saturday Night.
The guest house is situated on York Street in Stourport on Severn and is situated right next to the canal lock and overlooks the basin and river which ...
