Advantages: Beautiful views, beautiful Hotel. Disadvantages: 15 mins distance from center of Sorrento
...This Hotel is great! I stayed here a couple of years ago. The Hotel is in Sant'Agnello which is about 15 mins walk from Sorrento (Piazza Tasso) and there is a local bus service if you don't feel like walking. The Hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and very organised. The pool is also very nice and the dining room is fabulous with a view of the Bay of Naples. Very near to the Hotel there is a small beach, some local shops and a couple of restaurants too. It is better to go into Sorrento for bars in the evening although there are a couple of small bars in Sant'Agnello on the main street which is called Corso Italia (about 5 mins walk from the Hotel) On the main street there is a more frequent bus service into Sorrento (buses every 20 mins). Good value for money....

Advantages: Interesting town, great weather, good base to explore the area Disadvantages: Traffic and pollution
...of the noise and fume varieties. If you have any breathing difficulty, or are a light sleeper (or want to use your balcony!) make sure your hotel is away from the centre of town. On my next visit I will be trying for a hotel on the Via Capo, overlooking Marina Grande, where I won’t be wakened by traffic fumes every morning.

If that isn’t early enough for you, part of the original walls of the town, a Greek defensive wall, which predates...

...Ravenna is a little town (only 135.000 inhabitants) in Northern Italy (I must say it's my hometown) by the Adriatic sea and it's famous all over the world for its mosaics (it's been capital of Western Roman Empire) and in any period of the year is possible to see comitives of tourists from every part of the world that beyond to the pleasure of visiting several basilicas (first of all San Vitale, but also 2 Sant'Apollinare ones, "New" in Via Roma and the other, maybe the most beautiful, in Classe 8 kms from Ravenna), the mausoleum of Teodorico and Galla Placidia does not scorn also one beautiful visit to the shops of the center.
Unfortunately you can't enter in the center of Ravenna by car, you must park outside (and maybe the parkings are not enough) and then use a rentable bike or by feet to visit it.
The center of Ravenna...
