...just over 3 hours. The French TGV is the fastest train in the world and TGV are probably the best trains in the world. So it is slightly better than Virgin Trains or Connex South Central!! (The French government seem to take expenditure on rail travel seriously)

French lorry driver so I can't advise you to use that option.
Notre-DamedelaGarde is perhaps the most well-known tourist attraction of Marseille and it is one definitely worth visiting. Notre-DamedelaGarde is a cathedral overlooking Marseille. The view is magnificent and from Notre-DamedelaGarde you can see all of Marseille. You can go inside the cathedral which is historical but frankly nothing particularly different...

..., or hanging off a tree; I had to get my cousin to hold it up at one point.
Shopping in town is very nice, althrough some things can be expensive. There's a shop which has Garfield items for sale like clocks, slippers, towels etc. There's lots of cafe places in town. There’s a very nice café on the harbour which has chairs and tables outside facing a merry go round, which has horses on. When the wind gets up the tables can suddenly take off like Apollo 12. The menu is good with lots of pastries and hot meals (can’t remember their names). You can get drinks like Pineapple, orange and Cranbury, Coke is also available.
It’s so hot that we have to run the fans all the time, at night it is tolerable. During the day the heating go up to the 30’s about 7.30am!
