Ooh, I say! Review ofBaskin Robbins Ice Cream Shopby
Amy69
Advantages: delicious, wide variety, cheap, friendly service Disadvantages: not exactly healthy!
...when my cousin started craving Baskin Robbins, she somehow managed to pass this on to me when she was describing the different flavours she fancied.
Now, as usual, I tried to let this craving for ice cream pass. I couldn't understand why I felt so needy for it. I'd not realised how special it was, so I didn't feel like I was missing out. However, I simply couldn't shift my desire, and asked my cousin if she fancied popping along to our local Baskin ... ...You cannot miss the Baskin Robbins sign, '31 Flavours!' illuminated in a stylish pink neon light above the door. When we entered, there was quite a queue of about five people in front of us, and three more entered before we left. Though, this thankfully gave me time to decide what I wanted. There's a few ways you can enjoy your ice creams; in a cone, a sundae, as a smoothie or mixed as a milkshake.
After much thought, I settled my heart on a three-scoop ...

Advantages: Great flavours, great choice, taste testers, and more!! Disadvantages: Not much choice here in the UK!
Baskin Robbins sell the most amazing, delicious ice-cream in an array of wonderful flavours. Most Baskin Robbins are joint with Millie's Cookies and probably nearly every town has got at least one!
***HISTORY***
Baskin Robbins was created by two brother in laws (Burton "Burt" Baskin and Irvine "Irv" Robbins) who dreamed of creating an innovative ice cream store. They both had a mutual love of old fashioned ice cream and the desire to provide customers ... ...them, which eventually grew into Baskin Robbins.
In 1949, there were more than 40 stores in Southern California, which is when Burt and Irv bought their first Dairy. This allowed them o have complete control over the production of their ice cream, adding new ingredients and introducing new flavours.
In 1959 their first stores (Snowbird and Burtons) became Baskin Robbins. A man from a local advertising agency advised a uniform identity and image ...

Advantages: Good size portions, tasty! Disadvantages: Not enough branches!
Unfortunately, my nearest Baskin Robbins is approximately 37 miles away, which is a shame because I don't get to sample it very often! But here is a little background info.
Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins started their business in 1945 with an aim to create delicious ice creams with different ingredients. They initially created 31 flavours - one for every day of the month, and since then over 1,000 different ice cream flavours have been created.
The ... ...The other permanent flavours at Baskin Robbins are:
*Banana Caramel
*Rocky Road
*Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
*Cookies 'N Cream
*English Toffee
*Gold Medal Ribbon
*Hokey Pokey
*Pistachio Almond
*Rum Raisin
The only ones I have tried from this range are Rocky Road, Cookie Dough and Hokey Pokey. Rocky Road is just as good at the original sweet treat, and Cookie Dough is on a par with Ben and Jerry's version. Hokey Pokey for those that don't ...

Advantages: brilliant selection, great milkshakes! Disadvantages: pricey and not widely avaliable
I first tried baskin robbins ice cream at my local cineworld cinema. I had a hard time choosing what flavours to have, but i settled for one scoop of 'rocky road' and one scoop of 'chocolate chip cookie dough'. I can honestly say i think it was the best ice cream i have ever had!
The ice cream was first made in 1945, and since then there have been over 1,000 different flavours developed. Obviously not all of these flavours are on offer when you ... ...are happy and smiling!
Baskin Robbins ice cream is also avaliable to buy in tubs in 7 of their most popular flavours; Cookies & Cream, Pralines & Cream, Chocolate Mousse Royale, Mango Tango, Jamoca Almond Fudge, Strawberry cheesecake & Mint Chocolate Chip.
This ice cream is the best you will find, and so i recommend that for just this once, you ignore the price, and the calories, and order a double scoop of two flavours that look the best to you! ...

Advantages: Great for gift + clothes shopping Disadvantages: Can get EXTREMELY busy!
...for all your children's needs.
As far as food is concerned, there are many places within the centre where you can eat. You can buy a sandwich from either Boots or the little cafe near the front, chocolate from Thorntons, eat in the BHS or Debenhams restaurants, snack on an icecream from BaskinRobbins, or go to the Footlights restaurant for a bit of a treat.
The centre is also good for random little shops, such as the arts + crafts one near the side entrance, the jewellery shop and nature shop opposite, random stalls set up in the middle, and a great shop which has just opened, selling other nature goodies, from telescopes to cuddly toys.
There is also a Virgin shop where CDs, DVDs and mobile phones can be bought, along with many other shops which I have probably forgotten!
Once a fortnight or so, I also head down to the Grafton centre...

With the weather being so hot a few weeks ago, what could be nicer than home made ice cream?
I have made ice cream in the past, its quite a long process-you have to heat the cream slowly, then add some ingredients then let the mixture cool before adding more
