Amazing, enormous, needs multiple visits
Review of The Metropolitan Museum of Art by
SmileyBen
Advantages: Enormous, so much to see!
Disadvantages: Enormous - too much to see! ;-)
...The amount of art in the Met alone will astound even the most seasoned museum visitor, and that it is all of such a great a quality is sadly the second thing you'll probably notice. There is any and every type of art in this museum, and a visit will never disappoint, be it your first or fifteenth, there is so much great stuff here. Go here to see romantic art. Go to see skillfully crafted musical instruments. Go to see sculpture, go to see paintings, go to see prints and lithographs. And there's even quite a pleasant cafe for tea!...

impressive collection

This museum truly explores all of the richness of China's history through its art.
An even more interesting story about the Shanghai Museum is that during the time of the Cultural Revolution, when all art and academic works were being destroyed by the Communist regime, Shanghai's inhabitants donated their furniture, books and paintings to the museum in an effort to preserve them and the history they contained...
