...My wife and I recently travelled on holiday with The Gambia Experience to The Gambia with Monarch and were fortunate enough to use their Premium Class which leaves on Friday mornings. By fortunate, I mean somebody else was paying the upgrade price of £180 return each on this trip. We could not fault the service, the food, the leg room, anything! We even had a pass to the first class air conditioned lounge at Banjul Airport. The staff were very attentive and it made the five and a half hour trip a real pleasure. If we were travelling with Monarch again and they had a Premium Grade update, I think I would bite the bullet and pay the upgrade....

Advantages: Perfect location, ideal get-away, nice beach, lush nature, good food and drinks, lovely staff Disadvantages: if you see it as an disadvantage, about 45 minutes from the busy resorts
...Lovely place in rural Gambia where we experienced a real African Holiday. The logde, as it is now called instead of Motel, is perfectly located on the beach of the village of Gunjur. The area is unspoilt and nearby is the colourful fishing village with loads of activity, boats, people and fish. Very interesting to see how the daily life is there.
The lodge has 8 rooms, so very intimate but spacious. There is a big garden and a small bush to wander through. The beach is just endless and there are covered beach huts with beds and real thick matrasses. Makes it even more better! The sunsets are amazing and every day when we were out we wanted to be back in time to see the sun go down.
The rooms are basic but very clean and everything was there what we needed. Clean bed linnen & towels, en-suite bathroom with shower. The water is very hot...

The hotel is set on huge grounds, with plenty of places to go. The grounds contain lots of trees, grass and greenery, which is nice to look at. Also, there are many exotic birds and wildlife on site, which can be readilly seen. A set of particularly amusing inhabitants...

I know its not even remotely Christmas, but I saw this wrapping paper on the Lego website and couldn't resist getting it so I would definitely have some to wrap my Christmas presents in this year so that they look super cool! I am usually quite good with more
