Advantages: Very scenic place and warm people Disadvantages: none
...Grenoble, a nice city situated in a valley near the Alps is a quiet and peaceful place to go. The mountains surrounding it makes it even more enduring for travellers. Mount blanc and other mountains could be seen on a clear day anywhere in Grenoble. The most unforgettable experience I had is the humble nature of people living in Grenoble. Everyone seems so peaceful, relax and extremely friendly. Perhaps, it is the power of nature, hence the phrase "Nature moulds a person". If you want a full view of Grenoble, trek up a mountain and you'll seee an exhilrating view of the city right in the middle of a valley....

Advantages: Brilliant location right in the city centre Disadvantages: If you got a room at the front, it could be a little noisy at night
...Stayed here for three nights and was a perfect location for exploring the city. Located right in the centre of the town, less than a minute walk to the nearest tram stop which will take you all over the city. About 10mins walk from the train and bus station.
The hotel itself was basic but clean. The staff were friendly and helpful in providing information. What you would expect from any Ibis really - nothing special but great if you just want someone to sleep.
In the main square of the town centre so could i imagine it could be noisy in some of the rooms nearer the front but I didn't have any problems. Plenty of restaurants and bars to chose from. Also very close to the bastille cable car which is a popular tourist attraction....

Advantages: Steaming nightlife Disadvantages: No trees, fairly bland surroundings.
...The above is just one opinion given to this resort, which is slightly cruel, but the road so meanly layed between the vallies holds the bars and clubs to one of the best nightlifes in the Alpes!! so forgiven.
Just 1 hour transfer from Grenoble it is accessible and versatile for most levels of skiers.
Terrain is varied, with great long runs from the glacier for crusing, mogul fields, chalenging steeps and a difficult red pieste on return to the resort which can leave grown men quivering. Beginers advise to get the Eggs down. (Most of the begginers runs are at the top of mountain, a wrong way round?!?) But for snowboarding i have had some of the best powder days in my life there. If you know the spots, the off pieste is supplied by lifts and is varied as fields of powder to picking a line down a cliff face. And with La Grave just over...
