Advantages: A fantastic sailing experience, from beginning to end
Disadvantages: That it had to end!

...at 8:00am local time, in either Hull or Rotterdam, and breakfast is served from 6:00am onwards. You are woken by a very amusing harp tune playing a lullaby, before being informed that the restaurant is open. Disembarkation begins around 7:30 (ish) and you are called to your vehicle by way of an announcement. Due to the fact that we had to change cabin for the return voyage, we could not leave our luggage in our room. The CruiseFerry stays in port all day until you reboard it again that evening. We drove off and spent a cracking day in Rotterdam City, before driving back to Europoort to do the voyage all over again. All in all, we really enjoyed our break away with P & O North Sea Ferries. The crew on board were great, very friendly and efficient, the facilities were fantastic (like a hotel on water) and the whole experience... Read review

Advantages: Away from the city center
Disadvantages: Not good for night life

...If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the centre of Rotterdam then stop reading now. Approx cost per night EURO -95 to 135 for a standard room per night - breakfast is extra at approx EUR 16. Rotterdam is located approx 1 hr by train away from Skipol Airport with a 10 minute taxi ride from Rotterdam station to the hotel. Novotel have more than one hotel in Rotterdam, this on is situated in the midlle of a business park (Brainpark) which is next to a motorway. The hotel itself is modern and the 1st impression we had upon arrival was of welcome and comfort. The main receiption areain the hotel is just to the left of the entrance but you cannot miss it. It is located between the elevators to which are available to take you to the correct end of your floor rather than having to walk the full length of the hotel... Read review

Advantages: well located in the Netherlands
Disadvantages: not that many sightseeing points

...of tourists during the summer. For tourist there is not the wide range of sighseeing highlights, but don't forget that you are situated in the middle between two interesting cities. Futhermore there is a pretty shopping area in the area of the parliament, where you find the same stuff like in Rotterdam or Amsterdam. It takes about 45 min to AMS central station and about 25 minutes to Rotterdam CS from The Hague CS. It means if you are for one week in the Netherland for vacation it makes sense not to go to Amsterdam or Rotterdam but take favour of The Hague where you can start your several sightseeing tours. Regarding a hotel I can recommend the Sofitel, which is very very close (about 50 metres) to the central station (about 250 NLG a night) or the famous Parkhotel (about 250 NLG a night) which is located at the beach area of Scheveningen...
