Bateaux London dinner cruises are basically a night out on the Thames, on a wonderful glass boat, with a five course meal, live entertainment and dancing. Myself and my husband booked to go on the dinner cruise through the internet - www.bateauxlondon.co.uk. The website was very helpful, giving information about the boats, sample menus and various packages.
The two main packages for the dinner cruises (they offer lunch cruises too) were 71.00 for the meal with half a bottle of red wine, half a bottle of white wine and mineral water (per person) or 59.00 for just the meal. Luckily, when I was browsing the site an offer was running to have the drink inclusive package for the price of the basic package.
We arrived at Embankment Pier in London at 7.15pm and were immediately attended to with our coats being taken to the cloakroom. I was amazed at the size and decor of the boat we were to spend the night on, it was truly beautiful with floor to ceiling windows all around and a glass roof. We had been fortunate to be seated by the edge of the boat right next to the window, but the view was not spoiled for those sat nearer to the middle.
Our table was beautifully laid with a silver champagne bucket for the white wine and a small table lamp. We were able to choose from a selection of starters, main courses and desserts, sorbet was also included. The food was delicious and the service without fault. As we ate a piano played, and between the courses a vocalist and saxaphonist entertained us. When we had finished the meal there was dancing for those who wanted to take part, or you could stand on the viewing platform of the boat and watch the world go by.
We returned to Embankment Pier at about 11pm full of good food, good wine, having had a really memorable evening. I would not hesitate to recommend a Bateaux London dinner cruise to anyone, it quite honestly was one of the best nights out I have ever had!! I'm starting to sound like an advert!! As well as having food and entertainment you are able to see most of London by night. Because you travel by river there is no chance of sea sickness either - believe me - if anyone can feel sea sick it's me and I had no problems!
