Bath University Swimming Pool

Advantages: 50m means lots of pool space.
Disadvantages: Small female changing rooms and limited spectator seating for large competitions

...hot and not too cold. Bath is not one of the most accessible cities although the pool is only a 10 min bus ride from Bath train station. However, there are some negative aspects to it - one being that there is not a large amount of seating in the spectator galleries so hosting big competitions here would be a problem. I live about an hours drive from Bath and had visited the bird gardens on many occasions. They were closed in 2001 and I hope I have saved any potential day-trippers a wasted journey. Roman Baths

Advantages: lots to see, street markets, food markets, great value for money.
Disadvantages: they need to invest in developing the place, it needs it.

...to oxford, bath & weston-super-mare. the most intresting one was the trip to bath. we arrived at 09:00 and had the all day to toure the place. the city itself is a small version of an old roman city (it WAS a roman city) in witch the main attraction is the old roman baths (not the only attraction). the whole city is built on a mountain and so you'll probably have more fun driving there with a 4x4 (i took my toyota land cruiser and felt like a king). ...

clothing collections at the museum of costume

Advantages: many different displays
Disadvantages: a little pricey for what it is

this museum has a large collection of contemporary and historical dress and accessories. it is situated in baths assembly rooms which are next to the famous royal crescent. it is easy to get to by car, bus or a walk. there are many different displays ranging from 18th century to modern day fashion, there are many beautiful embroidered mens waistcoats from the early 1900's, there is a huge collection of shoes and corsets too as well as hats, scarves, ...
