I recently went on a short boating holiday in Bradford-on-avon which is about 10 miles from bath by car.The trip i went was a long boat holiday that involves alot of hiking and cycling and if your into fishing, a bit of that too.On two of the days i went to bath to visit some of the historical landmarks such as the roman baths and the cathedral.
The cathedral is thousands of years old but is still in tip top condition and the craftsmanship and detail that has gone in to every inch of the place is just breathtaking.Th baths are special too as they are i think the only roman baths still open to the public and once again they are fantastically built with spectacular carvings.
The town itself is full with really cool shops that you could lose yourself around for hours.They have a traditional market place were you can go and pick up antique kind of stuff but still worth visiting!
The only downfall i experianced when i was down there is that because it is a nice area to live in and all the rest of it you will find it extremely expensive.For example i walked into a cafe for a cup of ordinary plain english tea,1 cup and it would have cost me £1.75!
Other than that it is a fabulous town designed for walking around at a leisurly pace enjoy the scenery and looking through the windows at everything you would buy if you had the dosh.
