A bit of luxury close to Bath and Longleat!
Advantages: Very nice hotel Disadvantages: next door's extractor
...a mostly relaxing night at Homewood Park, which is a luxury hotel situated near to Bath. This hotel is a country house, built in 1832 and has just 19 bedrooms and is part of the Von Essen group of hotels. Now I haven't stayed at many, or maybe any hotels that have "helipad" as their list of other services in their very thickly embossed brochure, I am normally more of a travel inn or motel kind of girl, I chose to stay here as firstly I needed a bit ... ...Our room: Homewood Park offers a choice of rooms from single occupancy to suite. We had a Deluxe room. It was beautifully furnished with the hughest bed you can imagine, the size of two doubles together. The furniture was bespoke and antique I would think - it all looked very interior designer - the little sofa had cushions the accent oh-so-now purple colour that was picked up elsewhere in the room with glass based lamps and what I suppose I ...

Amazing Hotel and Location in Bath
Advantages: Great Location In Bath Disadvantages: Parking is expensive in Bath
We live near Bath anyway, and have often walked past The Francis Hotel. We decided to do a local weekend break in Bath (and have a few bevvies in the evening!). Note that it is now a "Mercure" Hotel and not a "Macdonald" Hotel.
If you are after a cheap bargain, then book The Francis via the following website as it's £35 cheaper than the mercure hotels official website: www.benbow.org.uk/francis.htm
The Francis is ideally located in the center of ... ...are numerous restaurants around the corner, and the theatre is nearby. The main shopping streets of Bath are really only a couple of minutes away (although i'd allow a good few hours to browse them).
The Francis itself overlooks a small park square. Quite often they have a french travelling market located here. The rooms are very good and comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a weekend break. The Francis also has a really good lunchtime deal ...

Right in Central Bath - a Cheap Hotel
Advantages: Cheap, close to shops, clubs and restaurants Disadvantages: Noisy, below par surroundings
...particular view of them. This Travelodge did not live up to that image, I was quite disappointed with this hotel. Bear in mind that I've stayed in Travelodges in Portsmouth, Milton Keynes, etc, Bath is a few steps up on the "posh" scale so I was expecting maybe slightly more of this Travelodge. Not the slightly less that I received.
My partner and I went to Bath Travelodge for three nights over Valentine's weekend. Just a slight distance from the ... ...an easy walk in the daylight, straight through all of the shops. Even from the outside, this TL is unlike most others. There are no huge, glaring signs pointing it out to every passerby, in fact I think you could easily miss it. Being in the town centre there is no car park, which is fine if you've gone by train! I think I'd describe the outside as in keeping with the surroundings, huge TL signs would be out of place in Bath.
As you enter the hotel, ...

Lovely but disappointing considering the price
Advantages: Good service, lovely location Disadvantages: Small rooms and lack of room preparation
I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights mid week and had been looking forward to the experience for a couple of months (i even searched for a review on ciao and left a comment!)
LOCATION
This hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk outside the city centre. We were very lucky with the weather so it was a lovely stroll to and from the hotel, although in more severe weather it would probably be a bit unwelcome trek! However, in nice weather the ... ...lovely townhouses. The hotel is also situated on extensive grounds which are well kept, as you would expect, and beautiful to wander around.
THE HOTEL
This is a Macdonalds hotel, rated 5 stars. Therefore much is expected. I have stayed at macdonalds hotels before, so had rather high expectations i admit. The hotel is small with only 90 rooms i believe with an incorporated spa area which is open to the public at a charge, as well as residents.

Lovely Stay at Hilton Bath City.
Advantages: Friendly staff, nice rennovated rooms, food was worth it! Disadvantages: Cost of parking and non-rennovated rooms.
...Club, it is under the Hilton system as British Midland (BM).
Our Deluxe room was far from deluxe, we were on the 4th floor around the back of the hotel in the areas with all the suites, and on a friends and family discount, we obviously received one of the non rennovated rooms. My only concern was really having to walk through a building site to get to the room. As we booked a double, we were both surprised to see 2 Single beds. The reception staff ... ...would have expected from a Hilton Hotel. It also includes a Living Well express gym which I didn't have the time to visit unfortunately. First class service and exceptional standards. I couldn't fault the service of the staff even if i tried.
For all of you wanting to stay at the Hilton Bath City, I would recommend that when booking you make a special preference to ask for a rennovated room. Otherwise you will be put at the back of the hotel and ...
