I have swam at this pool a number of times for various competitions. There are some excellent things about it - The top one being that it is an Olympic sized swimming pool (50m) and there is a severe lack of those in Britain compared to other European countries.Being a 50m pool makes it excellent to train in as there is more space for swimmers in each lane. It is also good for long course swimming competitions. Furthermore, the water temperature is just right when I have been there and is not too hot and not too cold. Advantages: Excellent facilities and organisation of events Disadvantages: Not particularly easy access by car
The olympic sized pool at Bath is stunning, as much to a non-swimmer as a professional - such as Paul Palmer to whom this pool is 'home'. There is an unusually large amount of seating area for spectators, only rivaled by Sheffield (Ponds Forge) which is nearly at an international level. The university certainly knows how to stage the event, making being a spectator at the pool even more of a pleasure. The big names who train here show just how desirable ...

...top of our chosen sport. Bath University's swimming pool is one of only five olympic swimming pools in the country. and is without a doubt the second best (behind Sheffield) if not the best. We are still a few years behind the likes of USA and Australia, but if we get more and more swimming pools like this one then we can safely say that the sport of swimming has a very good future. Now where are those Speedos?!? ...
