Advantages: All under one roof, everyday stores at everyday prices Disadvantages: You could spend all day in there!
I must admit, I don't like shopping, but I DO like the FloridaMall, and it is shopping all under one roof. I reckon FloridaMall must epitomize the typical American shopping experience, and is unlike most of the places we have in the UK, unless you get to Lakeside or the Trafford Centre. But with the exchange rate where it is, we would have been foolish not to have taken advantage of the savings we could make on shopping whilst in the US, and because we were in Orlando just before Christmas, we had our present to buy.
Unlike some of the other malls in the Orlando area which appear to be brand and designer outlet malls which smell of "expensive" to me, the FloridaMall offered us regular punters everyday stores, with everyday merchandise at everyday prices (and better). As an example, we bought a digital camera and an IPod, both ...

Advantages: Clean, tidy hotel with excellent service from staff Disadvantages: Noisy hotel near a busy motorway, not enough seats at breakfast
Having previously stayed at The Farifield Inn near International Drive in Orlando, we had hoped that this hotel would be as equally as good. We stayed this time at the 'Fairfield Inn' at Lake Buena Vista. On first impressions things were fine, staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly, the reception area was large, welcoming and well decorated. The pool area was nice, clean and towels supplied. Rooms were equally well decorated.
Then came time to sleep!! After 2 days I surrendered and went and bought ear plugs to drown out the all night noise from the near by motorway. Windows were single glazed and the motorway extremely busy. Granted it was a busy time of year during the holidays but the motorway caused even more problems - each day we would jump in the car eager to visit one of the many fantastic florida attractions ...
Advantages: 24-hour front desk, allows pets, conveniently close to Disney attractions Disadvantages: No ghosts, property in poor condition and maintenance
When people stay at a lodging, they have certain expectations. Cleanliness and good condition of the property are usually tops on the list, no matter how low the rate is. Unfortunately, my visit at the Lake Buena Vista location of the Days Inn was too brief to either strengthen or dash my first impressions, but there is no reason why management should expose any guest to neglect of its property. Once someone pays for professional hospitality, a reasonable standard should be maintained. While I never felt I was in any danger at this particular location of the Days Inn, I was flabbergasted that the American Auto Association (AAA)* would promote a hotel that was in such shabby condition. As a representative for a big chain of hotels, the one found at 12799 South Apopka-Vineland Road in Orlando speaks poorly.
