Advantages: Brilliant for its time and today Disadvantages: Rather short, Only 71 minutes
House on Haunted Hill was made in 1959 by William Castle a prolific director of horror films including the original Rosemary's Daughter and 13 Ghosts. It is definitely one of the best horror films of all time.
The film starts and are introduced to Watson Pritchard the owner of the house. He ominously informs us of the houses history. How his brother and sister--in-law have been murdered there along with 5 other people. Then we meet Mr. Loren (played by Vincent Price) he is a millionaire who has decided to throw a party in the house for his wife. He invites five complete strangers to come along all of whom are in need of money and he has promised them $10,000 each if they stay the whole night. Now I just needed to keep my mouth shut and not give the game away, which for a big mouth like me was a challenge in itself!

Advantages: Convenient, friendly owners, good breakfast. Disadvantages: A bit pricey
at the Marine. This made a big difference to me as I don't really like swimming in the sea but really love to swim (it's the thought of all those creatures of the deep and the sand getting into places it shouldn't!).
OVERALL:
Although the B+B was quite pricey I think this just reflects Salcombe in general where they know they have the tourist market and therefore prices are high. I think that the B+B was really lovely and I really enjoyed my stay there. The owners were helpful and friendly, the views were beautiful, everything was on hand and the food was yummy. I would definitely go back there if I go back to Salcombe. ...
