Advantages: Great food, pretty location Disadvantages: Need to book in advance
...The BoathouseRestaurant in Dedham is located at the side of the River Stour close to the border of Essex and Suffolk. This delightful location is in the heart of what is known as Constable Country as it was frequently featured in the paintings of the artist John Constable. You can even hire a rowing boat from here and row up to Flatford Mill just about a mile and half away from the Restaurant.
The Restaurant looks nothing special from the outside, in fact it really looks like nothing much more than a huge shed! However once inside its modern decor, featuring lots of natural wood, is actually quite attractive. You can enjoy a quiet drink in the bar before your meal as you choose from the wide range of tasty selections on the menu. Just to mention a few, I would highly recommend Rossinis in Gastown, which is a great value friendly Italian family restaurant with live jazz most nights, and Water Street Cafe also in Gas Town. If you would lik esomething different, try Stonegrill at the bottom of Hornby on False Creek, where you cook your own fish and meat on hot slabs of rock. You should also not miss The Boathouse on English Bay where the fabulous seafood is only surpassed by the superb views of the sunset....

...Brixham I would say is about 60 mins drive from Teignmouth, numbers 85 take you to Torquay Harbour where you can change bus’s (no 12) which will take you to Brixham dropping you off at the back of Woolworth’s. Bus’s from Torquay run every 10-15 minutes, it’s best to get an Explorer (£15) which will give you unlimited bus travel anywhere. On arriving in Brixham you will see that there’s lots of coloured houses on top of the hills, it’s a bit like Ireland & as I said it’s a bit hilly. Brixham is a working port with a marina, & it’s not too distant from where you get dropped off. Brixham is alive with the sounds, scents & tastes of the fishing industry. Here you will discover all the trimmings of luxury boating - Ships Chandler, Marina-side Pub/Restaurant/open-air cafés, & of course the boats themselves, of all shapes &sizes, mega...
