On entering the hotel, you find some lovely decoration, the dark red walls made ... ...were allowed to maifest themselves!
There is a lift up to the second floor, but unfortunately we were on the third, and faced a hike up some steep stairs with a heavy bag up to our room.

On entering the hotel, you find some lovely decoration, the dark red walls made me think it could be a haunted house if cobwebs were allowed to maifest themselves!

The room itself was wonderfully decorated and had plenty of room (though whomever chose the toilet seat should have their eyes tested!), it was clean and the bed freshly made, with plenty of complementary tea and coffee. The toiletries were not replenished every day, which would have been useful because there was barely enough for one person to use in a bathtime.
Breakfast was also good, lots to eat, good quality food in a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and pleasant staff.
There is a large downside to this hotel however... When I request a non-smoking room, I mean NON-SMOKING. It was disgusting that they had smoking and non-smoking rooms next to each other, so you constantly have to walk past clouds of smoke outside people's rooms, it was worse on our floor as out of three rooms, ours was the only non-smoking one, and had to face the horrid stench of cigarette smoking blowing in under the gap in our door. When we rang to reception to complain about it, she came upstairs, went back down, then had the gall to ring us and tell us there wasn't a problem and basically told us we must be imagining it because she couldn't smell anything. Her only consolation was that the people next door were going out to dinner soon...I fail to see how that was going to help us in all honesty. They would just return from their night out smelling of smoke, then smoking themselves in the room again. We resorted in the end to placing towels under the large gap at the bottom of the door in an attempt to stop the smoking getting into our room and being able to have an alright night's sleep.
(Please note, bad family friendly rating due to presence of smoke all round the hotel)
