Beware!

Advantages: Elegant lobby, relatively cheap price
Disadvantages: Poor quality furniture and beds, construction outside

Stayed in a standard twin room in September, 2006. Didn't take any pictures of the place but they do have a website with some pictures at http://www.rainbowhotel.com.cn which has the option of English, Chinese or Japanese. The hotel is supposedly a 3-star hotel but I don't know. I have traveled quite a bit, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Let's start with the good--the lobby looks elegant, with bright chandelier lights ...

First of all, the phone in the room didn't work when we first got to the room, so they sent up a guy to fix it. The room itself was extremely poorly lit, even with all the room lights turned on, as if they used 15 watt light bulbs only. Hotel Kunlun-one of the best hotels in Beijing

Advantages: convenient location, good service and delicious food.
Disadvantages: Expensive.

Grand Hyatt Beijing

Advantages: All the comfort and facilities one could ask for.
Disadvantages: There is a strong presence of people staying in the hotel on business.

serious buildings,amazing garden

Advantages: nice place, nice service

friendship hotel is a little bit special. most of the high starts hotels are luxury from its appearances, large, high, shining with the big windows or any other decorations. friendship hotel looks old, not old enough, but its grey color is not fresh, and heading a ancient style roof. seeing it from a farer place, it is just looks as a government serioius build.and it is not a high building at all. when you step near, you would find it is wide, step ...

A Beijing Bolthole

Advantages: Cheap, with helpful staff
Disadvantages: pricy food (compared to outside of hostel),
