I have lived in Beirut for almost three years now and I have enjoyed my time there. I love Beirut because of many different things. Firstly the night ife there is excellent and the restaurants are superb. There is a very high upper class region called Achrafieh and this is were most of the restaurants are situated. However you might have to go out of Beirut to get to any of the most popular night clubs because they are situated in Jounieh. The next reason is that during the day there is a lot of things that you can do. Some of these things are lie swimming in the swimming pools, playing golf at the only golf course in Lebanon, going to the cinema, and going around all of the historical attractions. The next thing is that wherever you go everybody is very friendly. I have never been threatened by peolple and I haven't had any body make any negative physical actions toward me.

The langaues that they speak in Beirut and around Lebanon are French, Arabic and English. The currencies that are used in Beirut are US Dollars and the Lebanese Lira. For more information on Lebanon see my opinion.

I do however have some complaints about Lebanon. these are that the amount of pollution in Lebanon is exceedingly gross. When I go skiing in the mountains I look over Lebanon anjd I se huge black clouds over Beirut. This is partly due to the fact that Lebanon is surrounded by mountains and then by the sea so the smog has nowhere to go because it can't go over the mountains and it can't go across the sea becuase that is were the sea is. Also there is a lot of garbage on the ground. However there is a service called Sukleen and they go around Beirut cleaning the City. I have to commend them because they do tackle a job that must be frustrating and must be very hard.

The re - building of Lebanon is still in it's middle stages and a place called Solidiere. It is a beautiful place were you can go to cafes and you can go shopping. It could possible be a wonder of the world when it is complete because it is so nice.

So if you are wondering if you want to come to Beirut for a holiday then I highly recommend that you coem because it is a very nice place and deserves to be respected as one.
