Culloden Hotel, Belfast - A Real Gem
Advantages: Superbly maintained oldy worldy feel Disadvantages: 5 miles outside Belfast
Where can I start about this hotel ? This is a 5* hotel that really lives up to its reputation as the most prestigious hotel in Northern Ireland. It is part of the Hastings Hotel Chain (excellents chain) and is set just outside the town of Holywood (not California, Ha, Ha) in the Holywood Hills. It is a beautifully presented hotel which has mantained the oldy worldy feel while providing the most up to date facilities. At the moment it is getting ... ...not deter from my enjoyment in the slightest. It has 12 acres of beautiful grounds surrounding it and is only about 5 miles by taxi to the centre of Belfast. It has a superbly exclusive heath spa and I tried several of their ESPA Therapies while my husband availed of the privileged tee-off times at Royal Belfast Golf Club ( SUPERB COURSE ). Also I must mention the food. It was second to none in the AA rosette winning Mitre Restaurant. We also dined ...

Travelodge Belfast
Advantages: Cheap, very friendly staff, great location Disadvantages: No luggage storage, basic room
I stayed at the Travelodge Belfast in October 2007. The reason for a trip to Belfast was a concert to which I had received free tickets. I left booking the hotel til a couple of weeks before the concert and there wasn't a great deal of choice available.
We paid £79.00 for the room, I booked it on a site where I paid 10% deposit and paid the reaminder on arrival at the hotel.
We stayed on a Monday night, we got the bus from the airport to the Europa ... ...walked the short distance to the hotel (it is basically down a street and across the road - about 2 minutes walk). We found the hotel easily and were greeted by the receptionist who was very friendly and enthusiastic about the city and the concert we were attending. We were checked in quickly with no problems. The receptionist spent a lot of time talking to us and told us the best way to get to the venue and what to do after the show in order to ...

Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast - Solid Choice
Advantages: Recently Refurbished Disadvantages: Not in centre of town
I stayed over at this hotel for a wedding and had a great time (as did the rest of the guests).
********LOCATION***********
I knew of the hotel but had never stayed in it before. It is the closest hotel to Belfast City Airport (about 10 mins by taxi, at a cost of £3.70). It is also about 10 minutes from the city centre, again by taxi.
Although we didn't go to the following I thought you might like to know that it is close to the Odyssey Arena ... ...**********BISTRO**********
We did eat in the Bistro in the bar, (Gelston's Corner), the food was very nice and by no means expensive. The avage cost was about £5 per person. The decor was very traditional and always seemed busy. The staff were great, friendly professional (full of the good old Irish charm). *************GRIFFIN RESTAURANT****************
The restaurant has been newly refurbished and I loved the wonderful collection of paintings ...

A Night of Sheer Luxury
Advantages: Good Location to Belfast City centre, Beat the Clock, late licence Disadvantages: No Parking
While staying with relatives in Ireland my Boyfriend and I decided we would have one night out where we would stay at a hotel in Belfast. Searching the Internet we came across Benedicts and I have to say we will be going again.
LOCATION
************
Benedicts is situated in the Shaftsbury Square are of Belfast and is a 5 minute walk away from the University or the centre of Belfast. It will cost about £7.50 to get to from Belfast City Airport ... ...HOTEL
*************
The hotel itself was opened in November 1998. When you first walk in you will notice the reception is done in dark wood and plush fabrics and has a sweeping staircase leading upstairs, there is also a lift.
THE ROOMS
**************
There are three categories of rooms to choose from Executive, Standard/Double Twin or Double Twin(single Occupancy). The price you pay is for the room and breakfast the next morning, for example ...

Ramada Belfast
Advantages: - Disadvantages: -
I stayed in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast and I must say that the experiance had its flaws and its charms. I normally stay in the Hilton or the Europa in Belfast if I ever decide to stay but because of the busy Valintines Day period I was unable to book a room in either of these hotels so I then decided to book a room with the Ramada. The price of this hotel was reasonable, at £79 a night, I think that this is a great price for a hotel of this standard ... ...had a lovely stay in the Ramada and I think that it was just as good as the Hilton, apart from there being no sky channels available. I recommend it to anyone who needs a relaxing break at a great affordable price. ***Also posted on dooyoo under lorrainek858*** ...
