dempseys has it all
Advantages: bar staff very quick to serve Disadvantages: for an older crowd
...good nightlife. We went to Dempseys on Friday around 10.30pm and the place was empty not just quiet but really empty there was about 20 people if your lucky.
We went back on Saturday to see if it had just been a slow night and could barely get in the door. the place was jumping. Theres a mixed age group but music more for older i'd say more 70's + 80's. The dance floors bit on the small side. The staff are really quick at the bar didn't have to ... ...the prices are reasonable too. Theres plenty of seating in the back and stools scatter ed round the dance floor. The toilets where very clean considering the amount of people who where in the place. Its also free to get in.
The atmosphere is brilliant and the people are great all talking to us and wanting to dance our scottish accents help us there I think.
Overall I'd say its a club not to be missed when visiting Belfast. ...

Kelly's
Advantages: Not Sure Disadvantages: it's well hidden
This is a kind of pre-review, as I’m going to Belfast on 4th December for a culture/history day, and have already been researching where to go etc… I thought I’d share with you what I’ve learned already. Call back around 6th December to find my own personal opinion.
Kelly's Cellar is likely to be Belfast's oldest pub. ’What another one of Belfast’s oldest pubs?’ I hear you cry. However this is true.
Kelly’s ... ...meeting place for Henry Joy McCracken and the United Irishmen when they were planning the 1798 rebellion, it’s also rumoured to have been a regular haunt for actors and novelists in it’s years.
The 300-year old pub is hidden away on Bank Street near to the City Hall and just off Royal Avenue, and now features traditional Folk Music sessions on a Friday and Saturday night.
I’ve been told opening times are 11.30am-11pm daily; and ...

The Sweatwork
Advantages: You can talk shit all night and people talk shit back to you Disadvantages: the next day
The Network Club is amazing. The music is pumping and the atmosphere is superb. Once you go a few times its like your local, cos you get to know everyone.
The bouncers let you torture them all night and they love it. There is also a shop there to buy all your necessities.
It does need a bit of a facelift but I dont think it would be the same if it was done up.
There are three rooms (one which includes a VIP room for a selective crowd. You can ...

They didn't curry favour with us!
Advantages: Nice decor.............. Disadvantages: See below!
...but we stumbled upon the Archana on the way before we hit the Lisburn Road. From the outside it looked most appealing. Purple frontage, gold lettering on the sign - very opulent and grand-looking. We crossed over to look at the menu which was posted outside. The blinds were pulled almost completely down but you could see a little bit of the interior. It had nice wooden floors, small but attractively dressed tables - much more in the current style ... ...seen or tried before. The Archana seemed to be such a place. The Curry Monster eats fish and seafood but no meat or poultry so he is always keen to see some different dishes to try. On the fish front there was only the standard king prawn dishes served by most Indian restaurants but there was an interesting selection of vegetarian dishes under the heading "Little India" and a note saying that they were always looking to expand their repertoire of ...

Dance the night away!
Advantages: regular drinks promos, late opening, good music Disadvantages: toilets, attracts a number of posers
Thompson's is situated down a little alleyway beside a bank which is just across the road from Belfast City Hall. Thompson's has established itself as one of Belfast's most well known nightclubs. Its doors have been opened for over nine years. The club is opened seven nights a week, each night having a different style of music and therefore attracting a different crowd.
The club itself is relatively small. As you walk down the alleyway to the club, ... ...come to them later). When you walk in there is a little desk where you pay in and then a set of stairs taking you upstairs. Upstairs has a large bar, the Dj booth and comfy couches along the side of the wall. There is a balcony where you can see downstairs. Beside the Dj booth are a set of stairs that take you down to the main dancefloor; the toilets are also located down stairs. The decor isn't too bad for a club, the floors are dark wood, the walls ...
