What A Fabulous Weekend
Review of Formula 1 Circuit, Spa Francorchamps, Belgium by jools30

Advantages: A beautiful location, great hospitality
Disadvantages: Long circuit

...Jaguar Racing at the Spa Formula 1 Grand Prix. Whilst I realise that this opinion will concentrate on the corporate side of visiting the event, rather than as a member of the general public, I still wanted to share what was an unbelievable weekend. Our trip started on Friday afternoon when we headed off to Belgium (unfortunately we couldn’t get to the Friday practice sessions!) Our journey took us through the Channel Tunnel, then driving via ...
...After this there was a Formula 3000 race, which had a quite spectacular crash on the first corner, then qualifying for the Porsche Supercup. We left the circuit at around 4.30 pm as, it seems, did everyone else as progress away from the circuit was extremely slow and there were long queues in all directions. It was at this point that we were looking with envy at the numerous helicopters flying away from the circuit! On Sunday, we again wanted to ... Read review

Coo! Plop! - Family Fun in the Ardennes
Review of Plopsa Coo, Stavelot, Belgium by lobourse

Advantages: Good range of rides, beautiful setting, cheap all-in ticket
Disadvantages: Horrendous food prices, frustration for children shorter than 1m tall

...= WHAT IS THERE AT PLOPSA COO? = There are various rides, although if you have small children, you need to be aware of the height restrictions. Our 3 year old is still under 1m tall, which limited him to 6 rides, causing him great frustration. The main rides there: Chairlift - this goes across the river, up to the top of the hill opposite, giving a fabulous view of the reservoir, river, valley and theme park Roller-coaster - only 90 seconds, ...
...adrenaline rush. Children don't sit beside you, but in front of you in the carriage, which was a bit uncomfortable for my daughter having my weight pressing her against the bar Log flume - only one descent, but pretty large, and the rest you are carried along on a fast-flowing current. Toboggan (luge) - children under 1.40m must be accompanied by an adult. You are dragged up to the top of a hill by a device that looks like a chair lift. You then ... Read review

The Belgium of theme parks
Review of Walibi Belgium by lobourse

Advantages: Good range of rides, decent range of food and drink, no pressure selling
Disadvantages: Queues on certain rides

...which is a theme park, Walibi Belgium. Originally opened in 1975 by Eric Meeus (there is a plaque in his honour just inside the gates), the park has changed names a number of times in the few years we have lived here – Walibi, Six Flags and back to Walibi again. On part of the complex, there is Aqualibi, which is a water theme park, but since I have never been inside, this review will only deal with the park. Aqualibi is subject to a separate charge ...
... Walibi is a serious theme park, with lots of rides that you would expect at places like Alton Towers or Chessington World of Adventures. The park has classified the rides under four headings – sensations, for families, for children and Walibi Follies, although this latter is also for children. 8 rides come under the heading ‘Sensations’, and these are the real white knuckle rides. Cobra is a corkscrew roller-coaster, which you do both backwards ... Read review

The Longest F1 Circuit.
Review of Formula 1 Circuit, Spa Francorchamps, Belgium by daseaford

Advantages: Great Overtaking.
Disadvantages: Unpredictable Weather.

...longest circuit used during the Formula One World Championship series. At 4.3 miles a lap, this circuit takes an F1 car nearly two minutes to complete, which is a long time in F1 terms. Because of the length of the circuit a complete race is only 44 laps. This track is a great favourite of the drivers because of the fast, challenging corners, particularly the Eau Rouge corner, but there are some concerns over the high speeds and the overall safety ...
...terrifying crash of Luciano Burti in the 2001 race. However, the vast majority of the drivers would not want to see any major changes made to the layout of the circuit as they relish the challenge. The cars travel at up to 205 mph, but it is the overall speed of nearly 150 mph that puts such demands on the cars and the drivers. The cars are on full throttle for 63% of the circuit and the skill at this circuit is knowing which corners can be taken ... Read review

High Speed DRAMA and Confusion at Spa 2001
Review of Formula 1 Circuit, Spa Francorchamps, Belgium by Connoisseur_Haggler

Advantages: exciting varied track, the ultimate ‘drivers’ circuit - many chances of over taking, location amidst lush forest
Disadvantages: none really..(often wet..?)

...many of my F1 reviews Formula 1 tickets are quite expensive, but Spa is a unique circuit and in my opinion the best to witness some truly gripping motor racing. Current 2001 tickets offer Bronze, Silver and Gold tickets depending on how many days practice you wish to see. The Bronze is the cheapest ticket starting at 86 Euros (~£53) rising to the Gold 3- day ticket costing 347 Euros (~£217). For current details please check the official Spa Francorchamps ...
...the tense atmosphere as 22 Formula one cars are lined up on Grid with 800bhp under their bonnets waiting for the lights to go red and start….Montoya in Pole position on the world’s most spectacular circuit hoping, just hoping to win his first Grand Prix….Unfortunately Williams were not to be as lucky in the race as they were in Qualifying..and more high drama was to unfold.. This race was full of drama even before it began…. ... Read review
