First impression - the window was filthy, the room dingy and dark although large enough.
The blankets on the beds looked very old and tatty. The counterpains were stained.
The towels were tiny, hard and smelt strongly of bleach.
The wait to book ... ...before us and there was only one person on reception who was taking a phone call.
In the evening we chose to have a drink in the bar. The bar was deserted, and there was just a large TV blaring Eastenders. After a time a girl came behind the bar and ignored us for about 5 minutes before going next door. 5 minutes later a man came and served us. He managed to do this without speaking one word to us. Needless to say we drank up and went out. more

The hotel has a fantastic position just behind the lanes and on the seafront, it is fine if you are looking for very basic accomodation, however at upwards of £100 per night it is an over priced disappointment.
Advantages: Central and on sea front so good location Disadvantages: Staff unfriendly and unhelpful.
Due to a theatre trip to Brighton I and my partner did a late booking for this hotel over the net . I wish I had read some of the reviews first. Although well situated, I cannot think of much else to reccommend it.
We arrived with our booking reference and were treated as if we were some tramps who had walked in. The young lady spent some time silently searching the computer and when she found the booking seemed quite dissappointed. I was asked ... ...Our double room was so cramped that it was impossible to move around it togther. The double bed was crammed into a corner and difficult to move around. Fortunately we had only a very small overnight bag , if we had had suitcases goodness knows where we could have put them. It was a single room with a double bed in it, basically and very uncomfortable. We went out for the evening and arrived back about eleven o'clock. There was a bouncer on the door ...
