Advantages: Friendly, Luxurious, Pampering, Relaxing, Disadvantages: It is about 12 hours away from Heathrow

The staff and the locals are very friendly and the atmosphere was superb. The resort was spotless, and despite being their Winter the weather excellent, several hours on the beach each day, no problem.
The food in itself ... ...my experience. I have limited dietary tastes! But even so in the 14 nights I stayed I don't think I repeated my main course at any time.
The golf courses are fantastic and rival exceed any that I have experienced in Spain and Portugal, The Legend is tighter and harder, and you need to be accurate rather than long, it is used for the Mauritius Open as it is a good test. The staff and the locals are very friendly and the atmosphere was superb. The resort was spotless, and despite being their Winter the weather excellent, several hours on the beach each day, no problem.
The food in itself was an experience, the quality and variety was unequalled in my experience.
The Links is wider and more friendly, but by no means push-over, but there are sufficient tees to make it a challenge to players of all levels.
It was good that people drove on the left and you will see many old bedford lorries chugging around the island, especially if you take advantage of the taxis who will take you on excursions. Almost all of the taxis are luxurious and fully air-conditioned and can be booked from reception.
There are many excursions you can go on and the island is well worth seeing there is water based activities at the resort including an underwater walk! water skiing, as well as trips on Yachts etc. The resort faces out to the Indian Ocean, but is sheltered behind a coral reef which you can see in the distance. The beach is coral sand and makes the see appear deep blue especially when the sun is burning down.
There is quite a lot of wildlife, and I had some small visitors at night, a couple of small lizards, and a very large and friendly frog, you will often hear the frogs croaking at night especially after showers of rain.
It was supposed to have been a one off holiday, but it exceeded my expectation in every way, that I went back last year, and despite putting my back out, (The Doctor who came out for me was first class) I knew I would try and go back again, and have just booked another 14 nights there this year.
Advantages: variety of activities and nice food Disadvantages: a bit isolated
...stayed in a villa @ Belle Mare Plage for our honeymoon. The accomodation was amazing and the facilities, bars, restaurants, everything was fab. The food is fantastic, the buffets are lovely, every food you could possibly imagine! There are free watersports inc waterskiing, pedalos, glass bottom boat ride and snorkelling - the snorkelling was excellent, loads of fish on the reefs. Ther is a gym with various classes including yoga and a spa which did ... ...that it is isolated, there is a town nearby that you can walk/cycle to but it's quite a trek, other than that its a taxi ride anywhere so you are pretty much stuck in the hotel on a night, they do have entertainment, dancers or a live band.
We are saving up to go back asap! Highly recommended, a brilliant holiday. ...
