Magical forests

Advantages: idyllic, beautiful......plenty of woodland!!!
Disadvantages: quiet for those party people!!!

were planted over 11,000 acres. Thank you Lord Nelson!!! Obviously there was still a high demand for the timber so from then on there were carefull planting and felling programmes which have kept our glorious forest for us to enjoy today. Anyway there is a "brief" overview for you!!! ****THE VILLAGES AND TOWNS**** 1 - The "Royal Ancient Forest" Coleford - Situated in the middle of the Forest, coleford is a small market town, comprising of the few essential shops expected in a town, Bells hotel and golf course, plenty of takeaways, banks, and on the outskirts forest hills golf course. Cinderford - again another main forest town, and again another market town. Cinderford is slightly bigger than coleford, therefore has more shops and services. No golf courses here though!!! Cinderford along with coleford lies in the heart ...

Queen of the Forests

Advantages: Gorgeous location, so much to see and do
Disadvantages: None!

or a nice meal out and the Forest definitely has a huge selection of both old style and more modern pubs and a great variety of restaurants. Just ask a local for advice (make it a younger person though, as the strong Forrester dialect can sound like another language!). Here are a few of the attractions worth visiting: Speech House. 17th century hunting lodge and home of the verdeers court. (where they passed all the Freemining laws) Now a very well appointed 3 star hotel in the heart of the Forest and very popular for weddings which are held on the grounds in a Marque. Close by is a lovely little aboretum, a popular picnic area and Bechenhurst. Bechenhurst Lodge & The sculpture trail. This is a large picnic area partly surrounded by the woodland but situated just off the main Cinderford - Coleford Road. There are ...

Forest Park Hotel - Platres - Cyprus - Simply Brilliant

Advantages: Family Friendly - Exceptional Service - Great Value and Location
Disadvantages: None

other tourist hot spots, but also makes for some challenging walking (both uphill and down). The town is well served by the usual amenities ? it?s chock full of taverna?s and eateries of varying distinction, as well as craft shops, tat shops, a couple of local banks, a pharmacy, a tourist information office based at the town hall (useful for local excursions) and a police station. There are also a couple of small arcades, which have rides for toddlers and young children, air hockey, table football video games and other amusements. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS OF THE PROPERTY The excellent, family-run, Forest Park Hotel, the only four star property in Plátres, is on the outskirts of the town, and, after passing through an archway with the hotel name tastefully emblazoned on it, you drive up a winding, pine tree lined drive, past the pool ...
