Advantages: excellant value for money Disadvantages: set on steep hill
...and breakfast stay, in a four poster, Jacuzzi suite and I would say this was well worth the money.
The dinner alone, in a restaurant in the South East where I live, would cost in excess of £70 in total, therefore, £85 per night, per room, including unlimited breakfast, for the suite we had, was excellent value for money.
Drinks are in line with pub prices, which made a refreshing change, as normally hotel prices can be a little inflated.
****area accessibility****
The hotel is situated within walking distance of Bowness-on-Windermere, which is where you can pick up the Windermere Ferries. It is about a 15 minute walk going, as it’s downhill, but probably a good 30 minutes coming back. Not good if you have small children or mobility issues and very steep in places.

Advantages: Picturesque part of the country, fairly luxurious, Fantastic Gym Disadvantages: No Spa, Prices can be steep, Summer Hols are too busy
...pack from the hotel, or arrange a 'walk-around' with one of the Duty Managers or the Wedding Coordinator. There is a helipad at the hotel so if you want to arrive in style you can do!!! Weddings take place in the huge Levens Lounge, and functions are set in The Orangery, a beautiful glass roofed room. Be warned though- when I worked there it used to get immensely hot in summer- if you do decide to book a wedding, check whether they've upgraded the A/C first!

The steam boat can pick you up at Lakeside Pier (5 min walk away) and take you to Bowness Pier, Lowood, Waterhead (Ambleside) or Hawkshead. The towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside are abundant with attractions...

...supply with some excellent wines
It allowed us to stock up on fresh food, cheese, bottled water, coffee, hand creams, all at cheaper-than-uk prices.
It enabled us to spend a memorable Sunday walking along the spectacular coastal path between Cap Blanc Nez and Cap Gris Nez. (Gris Nez is the closest point to England and is where most cross-channel swimmers come ashore.)
With the sun shining on to the white cliffs of Dover from our more northerly viewpoint on a bitterly cold but very sunny day we had some truly spectacular cross channel views.
It allowed us to eat , as always, some wonderful French food; we had dinner twice at the Hotel Meurice's own small and intimate restaurant and we had a late lazy Sunday lunch in Wimereux (on the coast near Bologne) at the Hotel du Centre.
My tip on eating out in France is look to see how...
