Benidorm (Spain)

Advantages: Lively Place, Cheap, Plenty To Do
Disadvantages: Very High Rise

Benidorm has often been referred to, as Spain's equivalent to the British Holiday Resort of Blackpool and speaking as someone who has had the pleasure of visiting both of these locations I can certainly see where the parallels have been drawn. ...luckily when we got to Benidorm and not before. Our plane was supposed to leave at 1.30pm but was delayed until just after 5.30pm. Advantages: A good all round holiday destination. Lovely places nearby and excellent climate.
Disadvantages: Has a bad reputation with some people. I'm NOT there now and it isn't fair!

I went to Benidorm again last spring for my holidays. It was our second visit; we enjoyed it so much last time that we were really looking forward to going there again. Our first trip was for our honey moon in September 1999 ~ this time was in May, so we’ve seen the place during two different seasons and built up quite a good picture of the place. ...driven to my hotel in Benidorm which is about 45 minutes to 1 hour away. The staff at appartment where I was staying were very friendly and helpful and they spoke very good english which was great as I spoke no spanish. The appartment was confortable and had everything I needed for a relaxing break in the sun, it was a self contained room even though I was on half board basis so there was a general dining room down stairs.
