The Bentley Hotel -- 500 East 62nd Street at York Ave
I have two very strong words for this hotel ... under rated and under priced. This is one of my favorite hotels in NYC. I stayed there is August of 2001 under unpleasant circumstances and, to me, it by far the best hotel I have stayed in. Now why you ask well read below:
1) Valet parking - Inexpensive $20 for 24 hours and can take your car in and out as much as you won't
2) Roof top restaurant and lounge with outdoor terrace. Excellent food, billing to you room, rather inexpensive food and drinks and great views of the the city. A must see if you stay at this hotel.
3) A very sharp and modern decor.
4) Courteous, helpful and pleasant staff. This is of course always helpful to a hotel.
5) Excellent housekeeping (I mean spotless!). No complaints here, left a big tip.
6) Doorman. Courteous and never missed.
7) Comfortable lobby. Plenty of seating to just sit and relax and watch the traffic go bye outside, without a care in the world.
8) Reading room with cappuccino machine. This was very relaxing. This is the only hotel that I have seen with a reading room, a nice touch.
9) Room service. I did not have the pleasure to use this but looking at there menu the prices were reasonable. Steak dinner $25.00.
10) Current movies in the theatre on your TV. This I have seen before. All hotels should do this. The movies that are playing in the movie theatre you are able to order them from your hotel room for $5.95 each, and watch then like a pay-per-view movie at home.
Second the price, forget about it! I rented it in August through hotelreservationnetwork.com for $120.00. It's an absolute steal and worth every penny. For everything that this hotel offers it should be much much more, but don't tell the owner I said that.
I highly recommend The Bentley Hotel for all of the brave travelers still willing to visit NYC - still the best city in the world

What a bargain, I stayed in NY last year, and the cheapest room I could get, at $200 (A Quality Inn, just off 5th Avenue), was so small we could barely walk around the side of the bed . They did upgrade us to a bigger room, when we asked though,
