Advantages: Looks great, get tasty free samples, handy for ferry passengers
Disadvantages: Very expensive, quality of some goods not good

...Bergen do not buy their fish and seafood here as it more expensive than at other outlets. That said, if the locals don't buy it, who does? You can't cook it in your hotel and you're not really supposed to take it home on the plane. Fortunately a few items can be bought in vacuum packs which I believe can be carried in the hold. Bergen Aquarium - no wrapper on these penguins

Advantages: A fun and educational place to visit
Disadvantages: Perhaps not for younger children, can get crowded

Flam Railway Adventure

Advantages: The most stunning scenery this side of Europe
Disadvantages: The train is usually always busy.

I went on the Flam railway as part of the Flam Railway Adventure with Thomson cruises, and it truly is an adventure not to be missed! You board the train in Flam (if thats where you wish to start) and it journeys up the steep mountains. The train is nice and warm whilst you look out at the cold landscape surronding you. Advantages: Allows you to see excellent views over the city
Disadvantages: Can get slightly busy at peak summer times
