Berjaya Tioman Beach, Golf & Spa Resort, Pulau Tioman

Advantages: Very relaxing place to be. Beautiful & clean beaches.
Disadvantages: Food at the resort could be pricey.

...My husband and I got married in August 2004 and we were treated to stay in Berjaya Resort for our honeymoon in Tioman Island. It was fantastic. We will definately go there again. Being newlyweds, we were treated like royalties! We were told that food at the resort could be pricey but there were food available in the nearby town that was so cheap (seafood especially!). We had an awesome time in viewing coral reefs on the boat. Feeding fishes in the clear blue sea. It's a great place for diving activities. The swimming pool in the resort was romantic. It has a floating bar and a jacuzzi too!!! Nite life was great! Drinks were cheap and also my husband felt in love with the duty free shopping (that's new!). Where is it and why might I have heard of it? ************************************************ Tioman lies off the North East coast of the Malaysian peninsula and is famous (if you could really say famous) for being the Bali Hai Island in the musical South Pacific - did anyone spot the reference in my title?? It's promoted as a paradise island and there are a number of good expensive resorts which means that you can fly there. The centre of the island is mountainous jungle and the beaches are clean with stunning white sands. Getting there? *************** You'll need to take up to date advice on this as it's a long time since I went. I took a taxi to the old KL airport which has now closed down. ...to summon you. The number of cars is also somewhat low. ACCOMODATION: My dad drove us to the Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort. This is one of the 20 beautiful hotels over there. I had a shock when I reached the hotel 20 minutes later…..chalet style!,my style! This hotel has as many as a thousands individual houses! Lining up from the coastline to the jungle and to the top of the hill!. To get to your room, you’ll need to take a small cabby, which is quite fast and punctual on call. I stayed next to the spa, which is quite far from the lobby. The cabby service is 24 hours and there are no extra charges. On your doorstep, you’ll be greeted by lush green forests!
