Elbow Room??
Advantages: Ocean Views, Excellent Foods, Great Wine List, Good Service Disadvantages: Mainly fish/seafood based so may not appeal to all diners. waiting area in the nightclub a little weird
...of land, continent even. The Lido Restaurant in Bermuda offers just that. The Lido Restaurant is situated at the Elbow Beach Club Resort, which is operated by Mandarin Oriental and is one of Bermuda's finest resorts, directly overlooking the Atlantic. There are several restaurants at the resort in fact, but Lido offers that fine dining experience along with another restaurant at the resort. The Lido Restaurant looks straight over the ocean, and diners ... ...lighting. On arrival at the Lido Restaurant area, you will find that there is plenty of seating, both outdoors at the Marina Terrace, and inside in the adjoining nightclub (which obviously doesn't conflict with dinner times, as it felt like a bar.). Advantages: High quality cooking, faultless service Disadvantages: Can't go there every week!
The Newport Room is widely considered to be one of Bermuda's top restaurants. Indeed there really is only one other on the island that in my view could be considered to be of the same or similar ilk. During my two years living in Bermuda, I have been to the Newport Room three times, most recently in April to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is based within the Fairmont Princess Hotel in Southampton. Tables are greatly in demand from both local ... ...not a requirement at the Newport Room. I cannot remember the exact details, but it starts with a salad, definitely included a lobster, then another fish course, followed by courses of meat, cheese and a dessert. The cost was a very reasonable $110 per person or a more extravagent $220 per person with wine pairings. The next two pages of the menu are the a la carte options.
