Best Hotel Est, Montpellier

Disadvantages: Closer to Station than main Attractions.

...as said is great for the Station, and in front of the station is the Bus Station where you can catch buses to most parts of Rome. Of course the Bus runs from here direct to St Peters for the Vatican Etc. Be very vigilant on this Bus , as it is popular with Tourists it is also popular with EXPERT PICK POCKETS. So keep valuables close to your body and not on display and do not let go of your bags. We found that from the Hotel it is not that far to walk to most of the Atractions, Colosiium etc, as with most old cities, they are not that big. There are many Restaurants in the Area best consult LETS GO, ROUGH GUIDE Etc. One we like is Monti Archi which is about 25 mins walk from the Hotel, last time we were there the Hotel Staff rang the Restaurant and booked it for us, helpful staff. Advantages: Cosmopolitan, student-orientated, public transport

..., Cartier and Hugo Boss can be found in the Old quarter. NIGHTLIFE: This is quite spread out in Montpellier with most nightclubs being located about 10 minutes from the centre on the beach roads. However, there is a thriving bar culture in the centre, the best being Café Joseph in the Place Jean Jaurés, Fizz, the only city centre nightclub and O'Carolans at Place Ste. Anne. Further afield, Ayers Rock is located by the river, in Antigone, a striking new development which stretches from the Polygone centre, all the way down the the Lez river. The architecture and the series of pedestrianised areas complete with fountains are a must -see for any trip here. To conclude, Montpellier is a fantastic city, being compact enough for a weekend visit, ideally located for a base from which the Languedoc region can be explored, and diverse... Read review

Advantages: It is FREE!!!!
Disadvantages: none. But you have to like plants and trees!

..., it is very old but very charming and still working!), an English Garden, a giant pound for Lotus… the Botanical Garden more than double its superficies. It has now 4.6 ha and 3450 differents species of plants and trees! It really worth having a look, it is a very peaceful place in the heart of historical Montpellier and the best time of the month to visit is May or June. Not a lot of tourist know this place because it is far from all shops and café (they are not that far however, everything is at walking distance and I would say the Garden is about 20 minutes walks from Place de La Comedie) but when you visit the medieval quarters of Montpellier, I hope you will think about this place too! And why not bringing a little picnic with you? The Cathedral St Pierre is just 5 minutes away as well as the University of Medicine, both a must see!... Read review
