Advantages: Close proximity to Disneyland Disadvantages: Because of this much further away from everything else
...My family chose to stay in Anaheim as part of our trip to California as they believed that this was the best place to stay for families. And having stayed there that is exactly who I would recommend visit here. Anaheim is about 2 hours drive away From the main city of Los Angeles. This journey time would be much less if the traffic wasn't as bad! Its worse than the M25!
MOst of the hotels in this area are based along main streets. Istayed at the Holiday Inn Suites, which was best for us at it was a one bedroom apartment (we are a fimly of four, 3 women and my dad so he doesn't like to share with me and my sister). The road our hotel was on was the main street, and it had a waterpark and the Knotts Landing theme parks just down the road, a short walk away. The Disneyland resorts are about 20 minutes away, and our hotel offered free...

Advantages: Close to disney,tourist friendly Disadvantages: well spaced out,Car definately required
...for 95 dollars a night.{per room}
Anyway I digress Anaheim itself if it was'nt for Disney would not really be worth visiting as its just not a lot there.Don't misunderstand its all vey nice but apart from the Crystal Cathedral and good range of Californian shopping malls,there's not a lot else to see.
If your are in need of retail therapy I recommend the "Block at Orange Shopping Mall"
Good range of shops,restaurants also boasts many cinemas and an indoor skate park,but parking in the evening is difficult
a taxi from Disney probably cost 10 dollars.
Back to Disney,there are two amusement parks here now the world famous and in my opinion the best "Disneyland" and sharing the entrance with this park is Disney's California Adventure Park
which I prefer.
If you are visiting Southern Califorina for a couple of weeks I can
suggest buying...

Advantages: Anaheim is close to all the major theme parks Disadvantages: Roads are very confusing for those driving in the area.
...I have just returned from Anaheim and the highlight of my stay there was my visit to Disneyland. This is the original Disney theme park and is celebrating 45 years. The park itself is very similiar to both Orlando and Paris but the queues are much shorter. I visted on 4th July which was a public holiday and I feared the queues would be very long but to my surprise and delight the longest queue I had to stand in was 30 minutes. The whole Anaheim area is very safe unlike the rest of Los Angeles and there is the opportunity to go out for a walk in the evening. Another advantage to staying in this area is that all the hotels are within walking distance of Disney or are served by a free shuttlebus. This is particularly helpful as the roads are very confusing and you can take a break from driving. If you stay in this area you can also watch...
