Hotel Best Western Obelisk - Istanbul

Advantages: 3* Hotel in a 5* location
Disadvantages: Noisy rooms.

This Best Western hotel is one of about six Best Western Hotels all in this old part of Istanbul known as Sultanahmet. It really is in a very convenient location and the LOCATION is its greatest asset. It is a three star hotel in an area containing five star holiday attractions. The hotel advertises its roof terrace as the sort of restaurant under the stars of everyone's dreams. I thought it was jaded and thus overrated with a distant view of the sea which was hardly on the waterfront. The rooms are OK. I had a de-luxe room which had been reduced on-line from an advertised price of Euros 134 to Euros 75.The TV had CNN and BBC World and the bed was very comfortable. I found the decor a bit drab. A buffet breakfast on the roof was fine but the service was non-existent. Didn't really matter though - the stuff was all there, I ...

Review of Best Western Hotel Obelisk & Sumengen, Istanbul

best choice from best western

Advantages: Location, standard, staff and food and drink
Disadvantages: None for me!

you ask me there are a lot more lavish briadal suites around but if you were to have your bridal reception here then it's not bad for the price compared to some hotels. Room wise they are very similar to the premier rooms but maybe slightly larger. The hotel do give a complimetary nights stay if you are having your reception here including the breakfast and wine, chocolates and champagne. However you can book all this even without being a bride and groom and the room on it's own starts at £140 for the night - the same cost as the premier room. Breakfast starts at £9.95 per person and you can add a load of other extras on at the time of booking online like fruit bowl, chocolates, wine etc. prices aren't too bad for a 4* hotel in Altrincham as it is a fairly upmarket area. For a standard room at the hotel you'll be looking at around £35 ...

Review of Best Western Cresta Court Hotel, Altrincham

The Best Western Hotel Montana, a great base in Zurich

Advantages: Bacon and eggs on the breakfast buffet, English spoken.
Disadvantages: Expensive, but it is in Zurich!

Best Western Montana, Zurich is very close to the main Zurich railway station which was our reason for choosing this hotel. We paid £323 for three nights bed and breakfast in a double room. For Zurich this did not seem to be bad value for money. The hotel has a restaurant serving evening meals but we did not try them as they seemed a bit pricey for what we wanted, and we found good food available elsewhere, notably at the station. On arrival our reservation was easily found, we had booked through Alpharooms. The receptionist changed to English as soon as we spoke to her and there was no language problem at all. The lift up to our room was glass and we could see right through the hotel, this was a stylish feature which I rather liked. The lift was very smooth. Our room was a reasonable size with a shower room ensuite. The view from ...
