My girlfriend and I recently spent a week in Germany and the Baudobriga Rheinhotel was both our first port of call and the standard by which we would end up judging the other hotels in which we stayed as we made our way from the Rhineland to the Black Forest and eventually Bavaria.
Arrival and check-in
It was a drizzly day when we arrived in Boppard and the cheery yellow frontage of the Baudobriga was a welcome change from the grey mist and low level cloud cover which had followed us from Frankfurt Hahn airport. The building itself is an odd mix of an obviously older shell and more recent additions and it was surprising to learn that the hotel has passed through five generations of family ownership.

The Bellevue Hotel is where Mozart stayed. Lille is fabulous.The sights around, the hotel itself, and the views from the hotel. This is a fabulous place to spend the weekend like we did, one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Read my review below:

I did not choose to stay at this hotel. A family member won a competition for a weekend to Lillie - including accommodation at this wonderful hotel. We had no idea where this hotel was, so on we went onto google to check out what this hotel was like and how to get there and the images of the hotel were amazing. It looked like a palace at the reception. After many minutes of amazement of winning a trip to Lille and staying at such a lovely looking hotel, we finally started looking for directions - if we didn't get these we wouldn't be going ...

?? you guessed it back in the first building we visited. Begrudgingly we made our way back across the city, dodging ?sword sellers? on the way.
RoomsThe building itself looked ?ok? I can?t really describe it any other way, it was a square building with grey walls but on entering it was actually very well set out. Stone floors and stairs, interesting antiques and very clean so I was quite looking forward seeing the rooms. Well I was disappointed. The rooms pictured on the BestWestern website looked nothing like ours. I can only imagine that they are executive rooms and not standard ones. While ?grumpy?s? room had been recently refurbished ours looked like something from the Crossroads Motel. (Old midlands soap opera).
