The rooms have Pay-TV films and wireless internet. The hotel can easily be reached by car and public transport. From the nearby tram and busstops there are direct lines to the city centre, the Central Station, the World Trade Centre and the Southern part of the city.Additional information- The hotel has a 24-hour reception- Pets are not allowed. - Luggage can be stored at the hotel.

The BestWestern Eden Hotel is, unusually for Amsterdam, situated in an idyllic location next to one of the canals that decimate the city. It is within walking distance of many of the squares, flower markets and a short tram ride away from the city centre. There are plenty of places to eat and drink close by and we (me + wife) spent a couple of nights trying out the bars back in 2004. Hence, be prepared for sketchy memory and vague references to things half-remembered.
To save time, my opinion of this place is mixed and juggles a balance of cheap and weird.
The Outside

As mentioned, the hotel sits on a canal - quite a wide bit of canal where a couple of smaller ones join. There is quite an expanse of water in front of it, vaguely industrial in a quaint sort of way. The outside of the hotel looks pretty regal ...
Advantages: Close to tram stop and airport bus stop. Disadvantages: Can get quite busy with people checking in & out.
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years. Its quite a way outside the main Temple-Bar area but is right by the tram stops. As the trams run very regularily getting about is easy.
The hotel is very close to Houston rail station. If you fly into Dublin airport one of the many buses outside the airport will take you to the station and the hotel is about a 3 minute walk away.
The rooms are sparce and basic but suitable. The breakfast is very good and you certainly wont want for a large lunch. This is a big fry-up with all the trimmings.
The cost of the hotel is middle of the road but reasonable for what you get. Yes its reasonably basic inside but you get what you pay for.
It does get quite busy and checking in and out can take up a little time. There is the facility to leave luggage there if you arrive ...
Advantages: beautiful hotel, given a room with a terrace Disadvantages: Out of season there isnt a huge amount to do

When driving up to the hotel you are immediately struck by how lovely this Edwardian building is. The building has been extended to include more bedrooms and a business/conference centre. And we were more then pleased when we seen it. From the driveway, we could see lovely rooms with balconies and we could see into the restaurant and a conservatory style coffee area.
Facing the hotel was a park which had a playground and pitch within it, a pleasant enough view. There was plenty of parking in the car park and parking was free during our stay.
The hotel reception was small but beautiful, very in-keeping with the Edwardian building it was housed in. We could see into the bar, which faces the reception, and at the end of the hall there was a set of stairs leading up to the rooms. At the top of the first ...
