The nice thing about staying at a hotel within the Best Western Group is that each hotel is individual but you know that it will be meeting the high standards set by the group.
The George Hotel in Lichfield is no exception to this and provides a perfect location for both business and pleasure in this delightfully small city.
Having stayed at The George a number of times in the past two years it is worth noting that we see the same faces of staff working there. Therefore, one must deduce that there is a happy working environment for there to be such a small staff turnover.
The hotel is very functional in providing a good base for business travellers and those on holiday. It also caters for a significant number of local functions, such as weddings, so there is always a lot going on.
The rooms are adequately furnished and the restaurant offers an informal buffet style breakfast, while there is a carvery for lunch and evening meals. The menu is quite basic with choices of roasts, and fish and vegetarian choices. The cost is reasonable and includes coffee.
The advantage for the holidaymaker is that the hotel is within a short walking distance of Lichfield Cathedral, the Garrick Theatre, museums and the main shopping area. A little further a field is Shugborough Hall, The Staffordshire Regimental Museum and the National Arboretum.
If you have not been to Lichfield before then we can recommend it as a place to visit and do use the Best Western George Hotel as your base!
