My husband and I stayed at this hotel for my birthday June 09. Despite the fact that they advertised the fact that the hotel was being refurbished there was little eveidence of this. The room was claen and last decorated in about 1985! The bathroom was tatty and the shower din't work very well. . The prices (£130 on weekend and £115 in the week )were extortionate for what we got and my daughter joined us on the weekend for one night in what they laughingly called a club room. This meant an extra bit was tagged onto the room making the bedroom itself dark and cutting off the view. It cost an extra £30 per night and was still tatty. The dinner menu was very expensive (£25) and the food very ordinary but the adjoining pub - the Lamb Inn was very good.
On the positive side the staff were very nice. Poor value for money.
