Best Western Harbour City Motel, Gladstone

...What a beautiful place - as a strict county bloke I've never liked cities but the one exception has to be Sydney. The huge harbour is home to ships and sails of all shapes and sizes, with Ferries plying their way across the harbour. Centrepoint tower has to be the best place to start an exploration of the city, from the magnificent veiwing decks the tourist can see over Botany Bay one way and over to the Blue Mountains the other. A monorail links the city with close outlying areas such as Darling Harbour where restaurants and bars luine the waterside. For the backpacker there is no end of backpacker motels and YHA's with plenty of pubs scattered around them! Outside of the city, the Blue Mountains is a great place to visit.... Read review

...to the Silver Spring area and get good and less expensive accommodation at the Holiday Inn in Georgia avenue. Best time to visit is during the Spring and Summer months in the USA.Winter can be quite cold in the East coast and you would not get the chance to enjoy a lot of the outdoor activities. In Conclusion, Baltimore city is like the junior brother of Washington DC.There are places especially downtown that you have to be very careful.The people are not as open as in Washington DC where there is a greater international population.Food is cheap,there are lots of seafood in the inner harbour.... ...from the Lever Brothers Soap Factory, a sort of working mens club if you like. From 1920 the Port Sunlight Players started to perform plays and musicals in the Hall and in the 1950's the raked floor of the auditorium was installed but it was still known as Gladstone Hall. In 1984 a trust was formed called the Gladstone Theatre Trust in agreement with the Port Sunlight Players and the Fortune Theatre Group and UML who owned the building at that time renamed it the Gladstone Theatre. The building itself is very impressive both inside and out and many years ago when I used to play for a local youth orchestra that we actually played a concert in the Gladstone Theatre and I must say that it was one of the best locations I ever played in, though there was a downside as at the time we where short of a percussion player and I was roped in for one...
