...: ------------------------------------------------- Should you travel to Innsbruck by train, I give you following hints on the way: a) Never give your cellular phone to anyone even if someone says, it is for an emergency! These are clever tricksters. They only wait for clueless persons to trick them badly! Once you give your phone out of your hands, you can kiss it good-bye! b) Many so-called poor persons beg on the area for your sympathy or a small donation. Do not give anything! The so-called society of beggars use your good nature only for their own richness! c) Never let you involve in confliction with tipplers, stiffs, or shady, strange looking persons. Treat them with the police station at the clock tower. Although it is not often, but those persons often have knifes. ...!) there are also various reliefs of the coats of arms of all of Maximilian's territories (far too many to mention!) VERDICT: The Goldenes Dachl and the museum which lies behind it are very interesting and the entrance fee is not bad considering you get an audioguide chucked in. However, unless you have an interest in or want to learn about Maximiliam I wouldn't necessarily reccommend going in. I loved it but I'm a historian (and therefore biased!). If you have the Innsbruck card anyway then definately go in. If you only had a day in Innsbruck I think that the time could be better spent, perhaps at the Imperial Church where Maximilian's incredible (empty) tomb lies or the Imperial Palace. Even if you don't go in to the museum, make sure that you see it, preferably on a sunny day so that thetiles glint and if you're lucky enough to have musicians... Read review

Advantages: Immaculate rooms, polite and courteous staff
Disadvantages: Bathroom became rather hot and damp

...Spent three nights at the Europa Tyrol, and it was a very enjoyable experience. The hotel is located opposite to the main station in Innsbruck and is only a short walk to the shops and the Golden Roof which is at the heart of the city. The hotel is actually connected to the main railway via a tunnel which offers exclusive use for guests. The rooms were immaculate, and very nicely furnished. My room had a typical Tyrolean feel which resembled a log cabin. The rooms were rather compact, however were sufficient. The bathroom was quite large and had a bath/ shower. My room however did not seem to have any ventilation in the bathroom and it did become rather damp and hot. The bedroom was air conditioned which due to the lovely weather was a godsend. The staff were all polite and would tend to every need. The bar area was clean and modern... Read review
