We have just returned from Harrogate after spending a lovely 3 nights at this hotel in lovely spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so I will try to review this hotel and the town as accurately as I can and would advise others to visit this place as it is a lovely way to spend a few days of relaxation and retail therapy!
The hotel is easily located at the Northern edge of the town on a hill above the exhibition halls. It is very imposing and hails from the grand old style of hotel, large and imposing and very Victorian in character.
We opted for a "leisure break" booked through Paramount's own website. The deal was for a premier double on DB&B board including access to the "bodysense" pool and gym.

My husband and I have just come back from Barcelona, where we spent 4 nights in the five-star hotelMajestic. We booked online about 2 weeks in advance and used their 3 nights for the price of 2 offer. We checked in without any problem and were shown to our room.
The room itself was fine, not too small, not too stuffy. It wasn't overlooking anything spectacular, the window faced a car park, which, I suppose, was better than being woken up by the traffic of one of the most famous and busiest streets in Barcelona.
There was nothing in the room, however, which would make it stand out from others. A double bed, a desk, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, a coffee table but no coffee or tea making facilities. A bulb in one of the bedside lamps was faulty and I asked the house-keeping to replace it. 4 nights wasn't long enough for them to fix ...

-out and wanted out receipt for the cash transaction. He tried to charge us again. We were fully expecting this and told him in no uncertain terms that not only had we already paid but we paid twice and no way were we paying a third time. He eventually gave us our receipt. We were glad to leave.
Upon arrival home, my friend contacted Laterooms who are giving her a full refund and as a result of our complaint (amongst others) against the hotel are deleting it of their website. They were fully apologetic and said that the hotel should have checked the reservations and queried the double entry.
I felt that a little part of my weekend was spoilt by my experiences at the Majestic, I know and accept that you get what you pay for facility wise, but in the hotel industry customer service should be paramount, it costs nothing for common courtesy ...
