This international hotel chain is made-up of individually owned and operated hotels and inns around the globe. However, reputedly it is not easy to qualify for membership of Best Western – prospective members must meet some very exacting standards and each hotel in UK is independently inspected on an annual basis by the AA. ...Skegness unfortunately has a shortage of good hotels. The Vine is probably the best in the area. I have stayed there on four or fiver separate occasions. Part of the Best Western Chain of independent hotels, the hotel regularly participates in Best Western special offers (3 nights for 2 etc). The rooms are clean and well decorated with good quality funishings and nice ensuite bath rooms. The Rooms are light and airy. Not the cheapest place to stay (but cheaper than certain other hotels such as the grand scarborough...) but it is warm and comfortable. The Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The Hotel has a well stocked bar with a Restaurant and also serves bar meals. I haven't eaten dinner in the Restaurant so cannot comment on the food the menu looks moderately good. ...The nice thing about staying at a hotel within the Best Western Group is that each hotel is individual but you know that it will be meeting the high standards set by the group. The George Hotel in Lichfield is no exception to this and provides a perfect location for both business and pleasure in this delightfully small city. Having stayed at The George a number of times in the past two years it is worth noting that we see the same faces of staff working there. Therefore, one must deduce that there is a happy working environment for there to be such a small staff turnover. The hotel is very functional in providing a good base for business travellers and those on holiday. It also caters for a significant number of local functions, such as weddings, so there is always a lot going on. The rooms are adequately furnished... Read review
