We have just come back from a trip to Sydney and stayed at the Unilodge. It is, to all intents and purposes, University halls of residence. That having been said, it is also a Best Western Hotel. Our room was small, but very comfortable and kame with a full-size fridge, microwave, kettle, sink and crockery. Tea and coffee making facilities were refreshed every day and the sheets were always very clean. The shower was excellent also. The hotel has an indoor pool and small gym in the basement and the reception staff were friendly. Don\'t go expecting that your bags will be carried to your room or you\'ll be disappointed. Location-wise the hotel is very well situated. A brisk 10-15 minute walk to Darling Harbour or a short bus/train ride to Circular Quay from Central station which is a 5 minute walk away. For eating out, I would recommend a very short walk around the corner to Glebe Point Road which is filled with every different type of restaurant you could wish for - I would recommend the Vietnamese restaurant Saigon Saigon. The hotel is opposite the Broadway shopping mall which has a supermarket and plethora of shops. There are very reasonable internet cafes just around the corner which charge $1AU per 30 minutes (about 50p) Contrary to popular belief, the students were no problem whatsoever and appeared to be tucked up in bed by 10.30. If you\'re looking for a cheap hotel (about £30 a night) that\'s comfortable and within walking distance to the city centre I would recommend the Hotel Unilodge.
