...Best Western Hotels are among the world’s largest hotel brands but is actually somewhat unusual. This international hotel chain is made-up of individually owned and operated hotels and inns around the globe. However, reputedly it is not easy to qualify for membership of Best Western – prospective members must meet some very exacting standards and each hotel in UK is independently inspected on an annual basis by the AA. Advantages: Lots of Character

...Skegness unfortunately has a shortage of good hotels. The Vine is probably the best in the area. I have stayed there on four or fiver separate occasions. Part of the Best Western Chain of independent hotels, the hotel regularly participates in Best Western special offers (3 nights for 2 etc). The rooms are clean and well decorated with good quality funishings and nice ensuite bath rooms. The Rooms are light and airy. Not the cheapest place to stay (but cheaper than certain other hotels such as the grand scarborough...) but it is warm and comfortable. The Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The Hotel has a well stocked bar with a Restaurant and also serves bar meals. I haven't eaten dinner in the Restaurant so cannot comment on the food the menu looks moderately good. Advantages: Quality hotel at affordable price

...it's one of the cheap-flight routes out of my local airport and, um, I felt like it. I chose to stay at the Best Western Castaways Resort in Freeport on Grand Bahama island because of the big brand name and the price - for the equivalent of a Liverpool Travelodge I could stay at an upscale hotel in paradise. The hotel is exterior corridor, but more secure than some because to get to those corridors you have to pass through the lobby and swipe through a door. The rooms are spread over 4 floors with the best being on the ground floor - these are mainly suites with fridges, sofas and private terraces. I was in a regular room on the 3rd floor, and had a mini balcony which was barely deep enough to step out onto, but useful for when you wanted to sit in the sun while in bed (open the sliding doors and you could do just that).
