Best Western Plaza Hotel, Frankfurt

Advantages: Central and reasonably priced
Disadvantages: far too much choice at breakfast.

We stayed in The Best Western Frankfurt Plaza in July 2006 as part of our fabulous summer holiday in Austria and Germany. Not having booked any of the trip I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel in Frankfurt. I was even more pleased due to the rather grotty hostel we had just frequented in Innsbruck, Austria. Anything would have been better than that! Review coming soon. The hotel is a three star and has forty five rooms all easily accessible by a lift in the main reception. *~*~Location*~*~ The plaza is located on Esslinger Strasse which is about a ten minute walk from hauptbanhof - the main train station in Frankfurt. There is a tourist information kiosk in the station where you can get a map of the city and locate the hotel. I have added picture below of a map of the city centre with the hotels location on it ...

Weil am Rhein Akzert Maximilian Hotel

Advantages: Great value for a spacious clean room including breakfast
Disadvantages: The multi-complex is an architectural design disaster

The hotel is on the top 3 floors of a multi-complex. Nothing luxurious but good value for a clean spacious room, breakfast included with 3 drinks from the minibar. The entrance to the hotel is not obvious - look for the glass door next to the house-number and mailboxes - on the door it says in black letters "Hotel Rezeption". Enter and take the elevator to the 6th floor for the hotel reception. The hotel is an architectural / design disaster but if you follow the signs you'll make it to the reception and your room. Corridors and staircases are dimly lit until you press on one of the light switches with a small orange lamp on it. A day pass for all public transport for one zone (for the Tri-zone) costs EUR 6 per person. If you stay in Maximilian Hotel, take Bus 16 on Hauptstrasse to Rathaus (about 5 min) and change to Bus 55 to Basel ...

Review of Akzent Hotel Maximilian, Weil am Rhein

Best Western Le Donjon Les Ramparts certainly not Best Value

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Split into different buildings, expensive.

?? you guessed it back in the first building we visited. Begrudgingly we made our way back across the city, dodging ?sword sellers? on the way. RoomsThe building itself looked ?ok? I can?t really describe it any other way, it was a square building with grey walls but on entering it was actually very well set out. Stone floors and stairs, interesting antiques and very clean so I was quite looking forward seeing the rooms. Well I was disappointed. The rooms pictured on the Best Western website looked nothing like ours. I can only imagine that they are executive rooms and not standard ones. While ?grumpy?s? room had been recently refurbished ours looked like something from the Crossroads Motel. (Old midlands soap opera). It was shabby! The furniture had seen better days, the walls could have done with a lick of paint and you had ...
