BEST WESTERN BACKGROUND INFO

The company although an international one, all of their hotels and inns are independantley owned and operated but however rooms may be reserved through the normal channels: direct,travel agents or on-line services, I used expedia to reserve my room along with my flight. (see my expedia op)Room rates are established by the owner or operator so therefore some rates may vary from location to country.

...I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Americania in San Francisco earlier this year. I was on a business trip (on a budget) and stayed there for 2 nights. The location of the hotel is just south of Market Street (in the SOMA district) which is described on one website as "a funky, lively, up-and-coming area of San Francisco". I would say that this is probably one of the slightly edgier areas of San Francisco, and being a visitor, you do stick out like ...
...to eat nearby, and how best to get up Fisherman's Wharf if I wanted. The hotel is one of the cheaper options I found in San Francisco, although at $145 USD a night, I was hoping for something a little better. It's main disadvantage is it's location since it's not with the majority of hotels up near Fisherman's Wharf, and you do feel very conspicuous as a visitor to the city, which always makes me feel a bit vulnerable.
