Hotel Best Western Obelisk - Istanbul

Advantages: 3* Hotel in a 5* location
Disadvantages: Noisy rooms.

This Best Western hotel is one of about six Best Western Hotels all in this old part of Istanbul known as Sultanahmet. It really is in a very convenient location and the LOCATION is its greatest asset. It is a three star hotel in an area containing five star holiday attractions. The hotel advertises its roof terrace as the sort of restaurant under the stars of everyone's dreams. I thought it was jaded and thus overrated with a distant view of the sea which was hardly on the waterfront. The rooms are OK. I had a de-luxe room which had been reduced on-line from an advertised price of Euros 134 to Euros 75.The TV had CNN and BBC World and the bed was very comfortable. I found the decor a bit drab. A buffet breakfast on the roof was fine but the service was non-existent. Didn't really matter though - the stuff was all there, I ...

Review of Best Western Hotel Obelisk & Sumengen, Istanbul

Best Western Hotel, Dublin.

Advantages: Close to tram stop and airport bus stop.
Disadvantages: Can get quite busy with people checking in & out.

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years. Its quite a way outside the main Temple-Bar area but is right by the tram stops. As the trams run very regularily getting about is easy. The hotel is very close to Houston rail station. If you fly into Dublin airport one of the many buses outside the airport will take you to the station and the hotel is about a 3 minute walk away. The rooms are sparce and basic but suitable. The breakfast is very good and you certainly wont want for a large lunch. This is a big fry-up with all the trimmings. The cost of the hotel is middle of the road but reasonable for what you get. Yes its reasonably basic inside but you get what you pay for. It does get quite busy and checking in and out can take up a little time. There is the facility to leave luggage there if you arrive ...

Review of Best Western Ashling Hotel, Dublin

Best Western, The Links Hotel, Montrose

Advantages: beautiful hotel, given a room with a terrace
Disadvantages: Out of season there isnt a huge amount to do

flight; facing the main entrance was a lovely stained glass window, I've included a picture of this at the bottom of the review. I had phoned ahead to the hotel as we needed directions coming in through Montrose - they were more than helpful and pleasant and gave us the information that we required. Upon arriving at the hotel, the girl on the reception chatted away with us and we all had a chuckle together. She must have taken a shine to us because when she handed us the room key she told us she had given us a "special room" - Intriguing! ~~~~Rooms~~~~ There are twenty five rooms within The Links, all with different themes, names and décor. Our "special room" turned out to be one of the rooms with little private terraces attached. The terrace was great; it had a table and chairs and came in very useful in this non smoking room ...
