I know Blackpool isn't ideal for a special occasion but if you are one of those people like me that likes Blackpool and wants to splash out on some accommodation a little more luxurious, then the Big Blue HOtel is definitely a dead cert.
Wanting to treat my fiance after a 6 month tour of Iraq, i knew Blackpool would be the ideal place fr us to unwind and have a little fun.
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful before we arrived as I had planned a little surrise in the room for when we got there and thanks to them everything went well, our champagne was on fresh ice when we arrived, the fruit bowl was excellent and we were presented with complimentary robes.
Arriving at the Big Blue HOtel, you wouldn't expect it ideally to be in \blackpool but located on the South Shore adjacent to the Pleasure Beach it is within easy reach of all the local amenities. Entering the hotel you are greated with a fresh atmosphere within the reception and the staff are so friendly and accommodating.
We received a ground floor room, which was excellent. \i knew that the room was going to be of a high standard but its when you actually enter it you realise that you are actually in paradise in Blackpool. The rooms are very modern and contemporary with king size bed and plenty of lounge area to relax. The fireplace in the room appealed to me the most and with that in mind I just had to take a picture to show everyone when we got home. The bathroom was fantastic with everything that you need tro equip yor break.
The food is excellent in the hotel restaurant, serving breakfast until 10.30 you have a choice of a continental or hot buffet breakfast with staff at hand should you require any special recommendations, which they will accommodate.
Blackpool is a famous favourite seaside place not only to us but to celebrities and whilst we were there did bump into a few celebrity faces which at the end of the day speaks for itself if celebrities stay in the same hotel as you. Haha.
Not only have facilities for adult the hotel also offer lots for children with special family room with seperateareas for the children with lots of games and pictures to keep them happy, whilst \i didn't actually go into one of these rooms I did see it for myself when you look into a room when the maid cleaning.
Even though it was Blackpool not the best place for a break, the hotel made our break one to remember and hopefully gave my partner the opportunity to try and forget the last six months.
