My names Ema and I'm 26. A mummy to a 5 year old and three cats. I review as and when I get time and as of late, I have a lot of that going spare. Enjoy!

After searching high and low for a classy looking hotel in Blackpool I found the Big Blue Hotel and was immediately won over by their website and photos.
We planned to stay a night in the hotel and spend one day at the Pleasure Beach and looking at their offers on the website I soon noticed that they offered a room and unlimited wristband. Jumping at the chance, I booked right away through the site and we got our confirmation email.
We booked to stay in the Superior Double room and the total cost for the room, breakfast and full day unlimited wristbands was £131 and that was for two.
*The Hotel*
Check In: From 3pm Check Out: At 11am
We found that the hotel itself was brilliantly located for access to the Pleasure Beach, but quite a hike from the nearest train station and as we don't drive, walking along the front with our luggage was not so great. When we got the the hotel we were greeted by the receptionist who sorted out our room booking, gave us our wristbands, key cards for the room and pointed us in the right direction for our room. The check-in process was very quick and the reception staff were very bubbly and friendly. It took us a little while to locate our room, as all the corridoors were identical and to be honest we were too excited about seeing how good our room was, that we forgot the directions we were given at check-in.
*Our Room*
The room was very spacious and really nicely decorated. Fresh, clean linen on the bed. We had access to a flatscreen tv that was mounted on the wall and dvd player. We had a minibar, phone and even a little fire - Which we couldn't seem to work out the controls. The bathroom was massive. Easy enough to fit 3 people in and swing a cat.... Not that you would want to do all that in a hotel room, but still. We had a sunken bath with an overhead shower, clean towels and complimentary toiletries. You could tell that a lot of time and effort had been put into preparing the room before our arrival. Our room overlooked the pleasure beach itself and we were kinda worried upon arrival that the noise would be horrendous, but actually we couldn't hear a thing! No complaints from us!! The only downside to our room was that we were a few rooms away from the lift, which was quite noisey in the morning when everyone was going down for brekkie.
*Food*
Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 10am Before booking this hotel, I'd read a few mixed reviews on the food. Some people said it was great and then others said stuff like "the bacon was like chewing wood", to be fair we didn't even attempt the food, we were far too knackered from the day at the fair that we slept through breakfast time. I think if we were to visit Blackpool again, I would definitely make the effort to get up and sample it.
Overall we thought this hotel was great and would definitely consider staying here again and who knows maybe next time we'll take the kids and check into a family room.
If you are wanting to check this hotel out then please visit their website: www.bigbluehotel.com - Don't forget to check out their 'Special Offers' as they do list some great offers Especially the 'Love Sundays' for only £99 per night, but they upgrade your room to the Deluxe Double room with late check-in.... Perfect for all you love birds!
