On the weekend the present Mr Tart and myself went to a ball in London. The original plan had been to stay on a friend's sofa but we decided that we wanted to make a proper weekend of it. After a donation from my aunt to 'make sure we had a good time' we decided to stay in a hotel. Last weekend I went to stay in London with my dad for four nights in the Mornington Hotel. It is a BestWestern Hotel, although each of the companies hotels is independantly owned and operated.
Dad booked the room over the internet. He booked a twin room for four nights. There was a special offer available, four nights for the price of three, and he paid around £200 for the room, including breakfast. The reason he chose this hotel was partly due to the offer and partly due to its location.
The hotel is located in central London, close to Hyde Park. It is about 2 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate underground station. Buses pass by frequently, and a taxi from Leicester Square cost us £9.

RoomsThe building itself looked ?ok? I can?t really describe it any other way, it was a square building with grey walls but on entering it was actually very well set out. Stone floors and stairs, interesting antiques and very clean so I was quite looking forward seeing the rooms. Well I was disappointed. The rooms pictured on the BestWestern website looked nothing like ours. I can only imagine that they are executive rooms and not standard ones. While ?grumpy?s? room had been recently refurbished ours looked like something from the Crossroads Motel. (Old midlands soap opera).
